Our holy grail non-negotiable items for traveling with a baby (and getting sleep!) are below!
These are essential for our life on the road and allow us to get naps in wherever we are and as well as move through busy airports and stay in the same room with our toddler.
We could not get out and explore each day, go climbing and get her naps in without these items.

Travel Cot: BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light
1000% hands down essential for us and comes everywhere. Doubles as a safe play space while we climb and her safe sleep space both in and outdoors. It's super light and compact (and we take it carry-on flights so we can pull it out for a nap in the airport for long layovers!).
Black Out Cot Cover: SnoozeShade for Portacots
Another could not do without item. Transforms the cot into a dark sleep space so we can nap her literally wherever we go! Really good quality and easy to wash. (DC: FROTH10)
Baby Carrier: BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Free
This has been a lifesaver especially as she's gotten older (and heavier) it supports your back really well and is great through airports and busy spaces as well as on hikes!.
Sleep Sack: ErgoPouch Organic Cotton 0.3 TOG
We absolutely love our ErgoPouch sleep sacks. We have a 2.5 TOG and 3.5 TOG at home (Australia) and take them when we go camping because you never know how cold it's going to get at night. Traveling we tend to stick to warmer climates so we take a 0.3 TOG and just dress accordingly underneath. If it's warm and muggy she just has nappy and sack, if it's a bit cooler we have a long-sleeved onesi underneath. They are such good quality we have only ever had to replace it as she's grown out of them and the one she's in now is 8-24 months! It's great because it's so light, packs up small into my bag, is easy to wash and dries quickly. It's a must for us because it triggers Kaia at nap and bedtime as a sleep association. As soon as we put it on she starts rubbing her eyes because she knows it's time for sleep.
White Noise: My Baby Sound Spa Portable (Big W)
When I was pregnant I purchased an expensive white noise machine and ended up sending it back to buy this one from Big W. It has everything you need, it's hardy as it gets tossed around a fair bit on the road and the batteries last ages - we changed them once in 3 months while in Thailand. Another essential for naps out and about and on the go!
This was essential in Thailand with the humidity and now we use it every night as Kaia loves sleeping with a fan on. It means we are less worried about the room temp and know she's getting good air flow with the SnoozeShade on. Light, easy to transport and charge, good battery life and clips onto the edge of the cot. TIP: It has a small green light for the LED charge, we just covered it with black tape!

Bunny: Doudou Bunny Amusette
Kaia's aunty brought her this for my baby shower and she is obsessed, we had to go and buy another one! Don't forget your child's favourite comforter - it helps recreate that familiar sleep space to encourage good naps and sleep. TIP: If you have one your child likes, buy more! Last thing you need is to lose it in transit. This one is great because it rolls up into a little bag to keep it clean when traveling!
Bug Net: Mosquito Pyramid Net Double
This was SO helpful while traveling especially when she was younger. When she is playing in the cot we chuck if over the top and it stops anything flying or crawling in to bite her! At night in Thailand we always put it over her cot when we went to bed so we knew no mozzies would get her.

If you have any questions about any of the items or any recommendations you'd like to pass on to us then please do!
Til next time,
